The
Krays
Ronnie and Reggie Kray were once the two most notorious gangsters
in London, and they ruled the East End back in their heyday,
through terror. In 1939, the year that World War Two began,
the family moved from Shoreditch, one of the most overcrowded
areas in London, and moved about one mile east down the road
to settle in Bethnal Green at 178 Vallance Road. It was a
small, row house with no bathroom, and a toilet in the garden.
During their incarceration, and since their
death, a whole industry surrounding them has been spawned.
